Dakota

The first part of the drive across South Dakota was as you'd expect: vast, endless horizons, miles and miles and miles of quiet. There is something special about it. Heidi was right. As soon as you cross the Missouri River, it begins to change with small hills and scrubby pine trees, and eventually The Badlands pokes its face out over the edges.

I went to Mount Rushmore. It was quiet, cold, with snow on the ground. I spent a few minutes thinking about our 250th birthday coming up in July...

Northern Hills Training Center will be next. See you soon.

Hugs and Pugs,

Allison
