It is not a surprise to any of you what a giant nerd I am. So, I have to tell you all about three super tools that I'm working with right now (and I'm also adding them to the presentation I'm doing at a few conferences this year called Teach Me to Nerd).

Loom: Do you get piles of messages that begin with, "How do I........?" and then you have to make screenshots and then describe it...BORING!!!  If you use Loom, you can fire it up, do what you have to do, and create a video that is immediately available online with a shareable link to show them how to do EVERYTHING instantly. If you're the super nerd everyone runs to for all the things, Loom is great to have in your pocket protector.

Speaking of screenshots...

Scribe: This thing is awesome. If you create step-by-step guides for stuff, this is for you (I'm looking at Eddie.). Fire up Scribe, open the application, and click all the things and it will take screenshots and convert them into a step-by-step guide with editable instructions, saving you literally another lifetime. I got this with the Punctual Pug knowledge base in mind and now use it for all sorts of things. This wins the most useful tool for people who need that step-by-step thing written down who don't dig videos.

But what if I could kind of have both?...

Descript: I took this for a spin with a webinar I did recently and uploaded the video. Within minutes, I had captions and a complete transcription. When you edit the transcript, you are also editing the video so it makes for simple video editing, especially with something that is a training voiceover. Also, one of the coolest things is the AI-generated voice feature so if you misspeak, you can have it generate the correct language and not have to re-record and edit things all over. This thing is the wickedest.

We've got our heads down working on Punctual Pug 2.0. Megan is making it beautiful. John and Adam are wrangling the pugs and making them get in line for XL and build out punching in and out and all that stuff. It's gonna be wild around here.
